Batman - The Dark Knight (Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal)

Wow ! This movie is by far the best movie I've seen this year. No not because it's a superhero movie or because of the talented & critically acclaimed Heath Ledger, this movie ventures into those parts of the Batman saga that only few have dared so far. And yeah, the Joker's back, meaner, badder & more psyched then your psycho mad goth buddy.

Say hello to The Dark Knight & welcome to the evil that resides in Gotham. He is very human & no matter how altruist Bruce Wayne maybe, he has his own personal motives for whatever he does. Christian Bale does a good job as Bruce Wayne & the caped crusader. The only objection I took was to the throaty voice he does as the caped crusader. His gadgets do seem futuristic but not unbelievable. In fact, I was watching History this evening & they previewed most of the gadgets in the movie & it seems that these gadgets are at-least part reality or will be very soon.

The Joker on the other hand has no motives, just chaos that runs in his mind. He does it cause he likes it, thats it! The face of joy that comes from evil, that only a mad man can sport is what Heath Ledger seems to pull with ease. The Joker tries to get everyone to perform the most evil deeds he can conjure. The Joker is not the evil but he symbolizes the evil that our minds are capable of. The Joker can possibly make Gotham hate Batman, but wait isn't that what Batman wants ?

If you are a parent or intend to take your cousins, nieces, nephews or anyone n their teens, think again! This movie maybe rated PG13 but the subject matter is dark. Adult audiences will be able to appreciate the theme but younger audiences may not like it at all or may form some really serious concepts! Take a moment to sit with them & discuss the movie with them. It's important that they realize it's just a movie, another form of art.
